The charity festival A week full of culture in Wallachia (Týden kultury na Valašsku), which took place from August 19th to 25th at the Resort Valachy in Velké Karlovice, helped those in need once again. At the end of the festival, the CZK 200,000 raised was taken over by the organizers and actor Jaroslav Dušek by representatives of the Strom života (Tree of Life) mobile hospice and the parents of nine-year-old Michael Žitník from Velké Karlovice, who suffers from serious brain damage. In addition, visitors contributed approximately CZK 20,000 on the spot.

The event, which took place for the fifth time this year, is organized by Valachy Resort Velké Karlovice, which is part of the HP TRONIC group.

The festival traditionally takes place on the meadow below the Lanterna Hotel in the authentic setting of a circus tent. This year, within seven days, it offered nine theater performances for adults and children by the theaters Divadlo Bez zábradlí, Ungelt, Divadlo Bolka Polívky and the theater of Jaroslav Dušek. Almost four thousand visitors came to see these performances. The atmosphere of the festival evenings was underlined by the performances of saxophonist Nikol Naňáková and dulcimer player Anežka Tkáčová. Guests also had access to the popular party zone with refreshments and drinks.

"Thanks to the partnership with RENOMIA and Jaroslav Dušek, who is giving up part of his salary, this year we were able to hand over the increased amount to those in need – an amazing 200 thousand CZK. This will help the mobile hospice to cover the operating costs associated with visiting and caring for disabled families. The family of Míša Žitník, who we have supported this way for the second time, is investing in a new special wheelchair for him," said Zuzana Vašutová, director of the Spa Hotel Lanterna, who together with RENOMIA representatives handed over cheques in the name of organizer Valachy Resort.

The festival was held for the fifth time this year. Over the course of five years, it has already helped those in need with almost a million crowns and it brought 50 performances to Velké Karlovice, which were seen by over 19,000 visitors.

"We are delighted that after last year's break, which was forced by coronavirus measures, we were able to organize this season and thus continue the tradition. In addition to its charitable dimension, A week full of culture has also become a pleasant ending of the summer season, and we are happy that it was so successful yet again. We are already starting to plan next year, which will once again offer an attractive program for theater lovers. We are counting on the date from August 18th to 24th, 2022," added Tomáš Blabla, General Manager of the Resort Valachy.
