Zlin’s HP TRONIC has had a successful year. Its revenues increased in 2020 by CZK 5 billion to a total of almost 21 billion and EBITDA (profit before tax and interest) doubled from CZK 550 million to 1.19 billion. This success was accomplished by the dynamic growth of DATART, which became part of HP TRONIC group in 2017, and last year, Czech customers chose it as the Most Trusted Brand.

DATART was able to strengthen its position on the market despite the closed stores during the pandemic, mainly thanks to the online store DATART.cz. It was able to compensate the decrease in sales caused by stores being closed. “We purposefully strengthened DATART’s importance in HP TRONIC group after its incorporation and we also focused on the development of e-commerce and related customer services to make DATART a functioning and popular multi-channel reseller,” commented Daniel Večeřa, CEO of the HP TRONIC group.

DATART operates more than one hundred stores in Czech Republic. The strong position of the brand in the e-commerce sector is underlined by the dynamic growth of it’s e-shop performance. In addition, DATART.cz won the Popularity Award in the category for electronics and the Quality Award in the category of white goods in the competition ShopRoku 2020 (Shop of the Year 2020), in which customers and an expert jury choose the best Czech internet e-shops. The overall popularity of DATART is increasing as well, which is also obvious from it winning the title of the Most Trusted Brand of 2020 in the category Sellers of electronics.

Another part of HP TRONIC group is the company ETA, which last year received the award for the Most Trusted Brand for Small Home Appliances for the fifth time.

HP TRONIC is not only active in the field of electronics and home appliances, but also has its place in the field of tourism and gastronomy. It operates Valachy Resort with four hotels with wellness centers, a ski resort, golf course, Bistro Valachy in Zlín and many others.

Currently, HP TRONIC employs three thousand people in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Social responsibility is also an important activity of the group. Last year, HP TRONIC donated almost CZK 4 million via DATART to projects and support for medical and social facilities, when within the project Spolu pomůžeme víc (We help more together) donated a hundred washer and dryer sets to hospitals and institutions caring for the elderly and disabled. DATART also started a new project called DATART pro lidi (DATART for people), which supports non-profit and contributory organizations, but also became the partner of the biggest pre-Christmas gift collection Krabice od bot (Shoe Box), organized by Diakonie for disadvantaged children.
